Guest guest
Good question , I have often felt that the " 1 out of 2500 " people having CMT is rather a low-ball estimate. It is quite possible the Aide does have it. And at her young age, she may not have experienced it either fully, or she may indeed have Type X, which, in females, is sometimes 'mild' or even asymptomatic. BUT, the Aide had no reason to talk to Adam about CMT and scare him like that. If she really understood CMT, she would know we are all different, due to our genetic codes. Perhaps you might want to invite her to join us at . However, back to the 'school issue' she seems to have been trying to practice medicine without a license, and she has no right, nor does anyone else in the school, to tell your son ANYTHING about CMT, or disability, et al. Go into that Principal's office, get that Aide in there too, and explain the Aide's conduct with Adam is unacceptable and if you have to add it in writing into the IEP and OHA, that " no one may give my son CMT information at any time " then do it! Also include the Adaptive PE teacher in that meeting, since I'm assuming he's supposed to be " managing " the Aide. ~ Gretchen
