Hi everyone,

Ages ago I posted asking for advice prior to our first trip to

Breakspear - belated thanks to everyone who responded. I found your

advice really helpful.

Vicky - I am so sorry to hear about your Tribunal. We also lost our

Tribunal a couple of years ago. This system is totally arbitrary -

you can either get an open-minded panel or a bunch of old-fashioned

SEN people.

It is your right to home educate your child but you have to

demonstrate you are following an appropriate curriculum. There is an

e-group called HE-SP which is about home educating special needs kids

and I believe there are lots of people on there who are experienced

in wrangling with LEAs over home education and they may be able to

help you (if you didn't know about them already!)

On a different note:

I am having terrible problems with Matty at the moment and I'm really

at my wit's end.

Firstly he has chronic sound sensitivity - we cannot even walk in the

street without him being doubled over in pain covering his ears.

I've tried The Listening Programme but, in our case, it hasn't helped.

I'm dosing him with Brainchild's Liquimag (10ml a day) as recommended

by Dr Heard. Again it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Any ideas of anything else that might help or could I try a bigger

dose of the Liquimag?

Our other problem is that he is constantly having accidents (mainly

wetting himself). I took a urine sample to our GP and he ruled out

urinary tract infection.

I've been using Nystatin for a couple of weeks and he has had some

die off but it does seem to be quite manageable. In general he is

well and his eye contact has improved. I'm wondering though if this

anti-yeast treatment is somehow connected with this regression.

I didn't give him his dose today and I don't know whether to stop it

or continue with it or try some other approach.

He is drinking a normal amount of water but these accidents are

virtually continuous.

He has been on most of his supplements and enzymes quite a while now

and I'm dosing him with Klaire's Therbiotics and S Boulardi. The

only other newish thing we're trying is NAC.

Any ideas or advice gratefully received!
