Its only 'mean' if they eat them in front of you (waving and drooling them under your nose) knowing that you have this sugar addiction ;-) Otherwise its THEIR food not yours and you should think of it that way. Same if moms buy lunch snax for the kids, its THEIR food not moms to eat. Makes you look at it a different way. If you were sharing a place with say other roommates who made cookies, would you eat their cookies when they arent around? Some self control is in order here. Do you control yourself or does food? Usually you need to steer your mind in another direction when it comes to socalled 'cravings'. Not mindless eating but mindful choices are necessary. Save a few for you freeday, and leave it at that. One cookie tastes better than a plateful when you know you have earned it. joni
Guest guest
Leigh Ann, Another way to think about it is to ask yourself if you want to wear those cookies... around your waist, thighs, arms and under your chin? I'm finding that helps me on the weeks we have our full staff meetings. The catering department sends over cookies, pastries, or even sometimes those really fattening breakfast sandwiches on croissants instead of something healthy (which kind of pisses me off). How about keeping a stash of Luna Bars, or other protein bars your like?... I made the enriched double chocolate pudding the other night, and it was pretty good, especially with several blackberries on top!
Guest guest
Ok this is just my opinion. But who owns the house? Do they pay rent? Are they using their own money to buy these sweets? Make the rules that any sweets must be consumed outside the house. They are old enough to understand this and besides they love you A few options I have found for satisfying my sweet tooth is using the protein pudding in the EFL cookbook and I put more fat free whipped cream then called for too <smile>. Sometimes I even get a chocolate chip cookie at the mall but that way I only buy one. Michele >I have a major problem with loving sugar.
