It depends on what you're using it for, and which plants you're thinking

of. Some will keep their color during processing; some won't. Do yo

uhave more specific details to offer?

Hi all

I need advice on natural colours. I thought of buying a food dehydrator

and

use fruits with dark colours/ dehydrate it / ground it and use this

powder

as a natural colour.

Do you think it would work??

Hi Marcia

I will use the natural colours in my CP soaps. I tried safflower, calendula,

lemon leaves, parsley, turmeric and chamomile. I infused them in olive oil and

put them in a warm bath for several hours.

Result: pale orange and yellow.

Hi Rania: Some of the plants that work to color CP soaps include those

you mentioned plus: alfalfa powder, annatto seeds/powder, cinnamon,

cocoa, hibiscus, orange peel, paprika, alkanet, indigo root, mustard

seed, spinach, comfrey root, maybe there's more. The more herb you cram

into that oil the more color you'll get, obviously. Even so, most of

thse produce fairly light colors. Marcia
