Stalkers and Weirdoes

Ok, not to freak everybody out, but I haven't made the " be careful out

there " speech in eons, and we have lots of new members.

Please be aware that anybody male or female, crazy or sane, friendly or

not, can join this group, read the posts, look at the pictures and profiles,

and send you instant messages.

It's best to be a little bit cautious with your personal information. You

probably don't want your full name and city listed in your Yahoo profile or

with your photos. It's best not to have any phone numbers or places of

employment in your signature line. It's probably not the greatest idea to

post exactly where you live and workout and what time you go to the gym

every day. Some women are more comfortable posting bikini pictures if they

blur their face or crop their head out of the shot. You can always create a

new Yahoo ID, go by a nickname, or fill your profile info with fun

nonsense.

This has always been a very friendly and supportive group and so people tend

to let their guard down, maybe a little too much. Keep in mind that you

can make a bunch of friends and share a whole lot of really personal stories

and photos without actually telling anybody who you are or how to find your

house. We've had very few problems over the years with creepy stalker types,

but occasionally there's a real doozy, so please be careful and take a few

precautions.

Oh, and please be kind to the politely lurking guys who have always been

members here. We're one of the biggest and most active BFL boards, so

plenty guys read along or drop by and ask questions. Generally, they're on

their very best behavior, but when one is sighted, somebody will yell, EEK!

A MAN! and everybody will scream and flail around and run into the walls

like they've seen a rat or something. So, I'm just telling you in advance,

there are guys here. Everybody stay calm... and go delete your last name and

home phone number off your profile. LOL
