Guest guest
Tom had an MRI a few years ago and the result were meant to be normal. Does anyone know of anyone collating MRI results for autistic children? The NHS still has his scan plates and it seems silly to waste them. But our clinician isn't interested in researching other people who might be researching autism (hmm, perhaps because there are none) and that seems to be that. If Tom has a smaller than average amlyglada (or whatever it's called) presumably it would show on his MRI. I never knew if they meant normal for an autistic person or normal, normal. Perhaps I could ask them to revisit it.
Guest guest
Very common to not have tumor show up on scan. Older scanners miss a lot. Newer ones are better but any thing much smaler then 7 mm are hard to see. > > Got MRI results of the adrenals today. MRI did not show any visible tumors. Endo wants to do AVS now. Guest guest
The MRI can look at the renal arteries at the same time as the adrenals. Did they do an MRI angio study. We called it Dr. Grim's Hypertensive MRI Study. CE Grim MDGot MRI results of the adrenals today. MRI did not show any visible tumors. Endo wants to do AVS now. Cardiologist wants to Renal Angiogram. Guest guest
MRIs are not as good as CT, but both can miss an adenoma. AVS is the only sure way to determine if you have an adenoma or hyperplasia. HCTZ is liable to do a job on your potassium. Only 8 mEq potassium??? Guest guest
You know I have as well and not seen the fasting or florinef either. And I did ask my endo and he said it was standard procedure... I really get the impression that my endo has never seen or dealt with PA before and that concerns me a little. But perhaps I can get this info to him so he can become more informed. I'm the sort of person that when something affects me, I research the hell out of it. Thus how I found flowerspy's blog and this yahoo group! I can definitely say from what I've learned from my research, I do absolutely believe that I have PA. I have the classic high blood pressure that is drug resistant and hypokalemia as well as many of the other symptoms I have seen others post here and elsewhere. And I have had the doctors rule out MANY other conditions to almost frustration really. Both myself and my current doctors (past doctors were useless and told me it was all in my head) know that something is definitely wrong, just a matter of what. I believe its PA, they are not convinced yet, thus all the testing. The medical sites give very little information on this condition, alarming little, which is really a shame since a lot of people and sometimes doctors refer to the sites for information. > > > > > > > > > Got MRI results of the adrenals today. Guest guest
I assume CT also did not show adrenal bumps. One must be looking for them to see them. I just picked up an adenoma on a new pt that I saw that had been missed or 3 different CTs which were done for something else and they were not looking carefully at adrenals.CE Grim MDI"m not sure what all the MRI looked at, but I have had a triphase renalgram which was fine (again not sure if that looks at renal arteries specifically but I think so). They did not do an MRI angio study. I have had a ct of the kidneys and all seemed normal (they thought calcification/stones may have been back because of severe flank pain the last time I was in the hospital). I do get the impression that my endo has not dealt with PA before, he seems to be doing alot of research during my actual visits. I have printed your article Dr. Grim to take with me the next time I see him. I am also taking a copy to my cardiologist and primary as well so they can ALL be on the same page and understand the process. From the stories I've read here, and flowerspy's blog and nord, I do absolutely believe I have the symptoms of PA.> > > Got MRI results of the adrenals today. Guest guest
Strange. Ca does not go away unless it was renal stones. Trust CTs were not someone elses? You also want someone to read them who has seen a few Conn's tumors on CTs or MRIs so they know what to look for. CE Grim MDNo they weren't specifically looking at the adrenals with the CT. I've had 3 CT's of kidneys over the last two years, and nothing has been noted about the adrenals. The MRI done on Monday was of the entire abdomen with focus on the adrenals, my primary dr said it was "clear". One of those CT's showed a LARGE amount of calcification and stones in the kidneys, one kidney ultrasound showed calcification as well, but last two CT's say kidney's are free of calcification. > > >> > > > Got MRI results of the adrenals today.
