Thanks! I remember seeing your pics before and was impressed with your progress.

Just didn't put the name together.

using anything?

You can try the link below. If that does't work they are here in

the

photo's database. Go to Photos, click on " list " then look for BFL

Challenge - May 2006.

That's so awesome gentle, thanks for sharing. :) I was just

wondering about something you mentioned..after the first three

challenges, in what ways did you modify or change what you were

doing?

Any other tips or advice you can give to those of us just starting

out would be great. Goodluck with the marathon, that's inspiring!

All the best

dea xx

After the first 3 challenges I really needed to make things more

interesting. I purchased Tom Venuto's Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle

book and started working out w/ a 3 day split (BFL is a two day split

weight lifgting routine). I changed up my cardio some, alternating

HIIT w/ longer cardio sessions. Not because I though longer was

better but just because it was a different sort of challenge. I

maintained the BFL eating style (6 x day) but played w/ the ratios

some. For me it's as important to keep my mind involved (i.e.

playing w/ carb/prot./fat ratios) as it is to keep my body guessing.

I incorporated some of Venuto's goal setting strategies also (pretty

similiar to BFL just a little more involved). More recently I've

just been maintaining my weight and having fun, switching up my

routine every 4 weeks, running outside more, working out w/ friends

(now that I know I can keep up w/ my athletic friends...and they push

my limits as well). As I mentioned, my goals are a little

different... more focused on body composition for the moment, later

I'll start working on overall athletic capabilities to prepare for

the marathon.

There are different keys to success for everyone. Some of mine were

writting down my goals every 12 weeks, reading them daily and making

myself believe them. I journaled and planned A LOT in the

beginnning, until it became easier and more natural. As my success

started to show people would ask me to share and that really helped

me stay focused and excited. I managed to not obsess about the scale

or the measuring tape. It was really my first attempt to loose

weight so it was all a new challenge and I didn't have hang ups about

past failures and attempts, which I think really helped in the long

run. Lots of luck... have fun w/ the journey, be patient and stay

focused!
