Guest guest Posted July 14, 2009 Report Share Posted July 14, 2009 A few days ago I received a few samples of Mandy Aftel's perfumes. I wanted to see how my perfumes measure up...to see if I am on the right track with my creations. I got the Cognac, the Pink Lotus, and the Cocoa perfumes. My evaluation of them has made me realize several things. Perfume is so totally subjective. I like many of my personal perfumes better than the samples I received, but the Pink Lotus is quite nice! The Aftelier perfumes are more rounded than mine, but not so drastically better, as I expected them to be. I am encouraged in my perfuming and really now realize that it's all just a matter of taste. My perfumes have nearly the same tenacity and sillage of the Afterlier perfumes. I still have a ways to go in finalizing many of the perfumes that I have several versions of maturing...but now I have the confidence that they are what they are supposed to be! Yay!
