Guest guest
I've had two C-Sections (bikini cut) 17 & 15 yrs ago, and I personally have a different feeling when comparing the upper, obliques and lower abs. By feeling I mean, that I can feel the burn in the upper and obliques, but I feel it a lot less in the lower abs. The lower abs are working and are tight, but the sensation is different. From having had a breast reduction surgery as well (21 yrs ago), you do lose some " feeling " because some of the nerves are damaged when they cut through muscles and skin for an operation. So I figured that this is also the same for that lower abs region as it is for the region under my breasts (where the scars are located, where they cut me open). So, although you don't feel it, you're working those lower abs, as long as the movement originates from the lower abs (i.e. as long as you're not using your quads or hip flexors to try to raise your lower body). Hope this helps you a bit :-) > > I'm looking for the experiences of women who have had a c-section (or more > than one) that are doing BFL. Guest guest
As long as you have good form, just persist, you are on the right track. Look for other exercises besides the regular crunches too: http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/WaistWt.html The biggest abfat reducer is pushing oneself away from the table ;-) in other words its losing overall bodyfat (you cannot spot reduce) by maintaining a consistant caloric deficit with a pinch of persistance and determination you will reach your goal. joni *Lift well, Eat less, Walk fast, Live long*
Guest guest
bikini cut. Sorry forgot to mention that. Thanks for the responses so far. I hadn't thought about nerve damage, which is something I have experience due to hip surgeries. Guest guest
You know I was thinking about this this morning as I did my abs. I cant feel a damned thing! - LOL I have never though about nerve damage before but that makes sense. I do feel the upper abs and the sides but not my belly bottom/lower abs. my belly is terrible though it hangs over the cut. my section is 1yo. It just seems I cant lose the fat from my belly. > > I'm looking for the experiences of women who have had a c-section (or more > than one) that are doing BFL. Guest guest
Here's my update--i think I found an abs exercise that works for me!! (Of course, I can't say that it will work for everyone.) I was reading Shape Magazine and they suggested the " bike " move as it works all of the muscles. I tried it yesterday and I'm feeling it today! woohoo! (Who ever thought I'd get excited over sore muscles??) It's sore right at the scar, so I guess this means the muscles are rebuilding. Too soon to say if this will help get rid of the bulge, but muscle alone is good enough for me. Lying on your back, bring your left knee to your right elbow and then switch. I hope I described that adequately. I hope everyone else can find something that helps them. I found a site with a few other " post-c/s " ab exercises: http://www.amazingabdominals.com/ab_guru/innerunit.html Let's all get rid of these bulges/kangaroo pouches/ " butts " !
