Is everything OK with her teeth? What about her diet is it heavily protein just wondered if it was a ketones type of smell? You could always try Ketostix to check that. Pity I've given up my Lighterlife dioet (again) or I would have knicked a few for you!!

....:-(( She doesn't however have any blood markers indicating inflammation so can only think it's a tough bacteria. She did have high stool clostridia two years ago but my doctor said " Nothing to worry about!"

It is not necessary to have blood markers for IBD but still have IBD.... This is according to both Krigsman and Balzola. In fact Frederico Balzola goes as far to say that 100% of the people children and adults that have been studied by him and his colleagues, have IBD in Autism, quite some claim huh?

Have you tested for any bugs since, stool or urine tests? Might be worth it, Clostridia nothing to worry about huh? These guys make you laugh, Clostridia the new superbug, but nothing to worry about it in our children huh?

As Vicky says you couldnt make this stuff up could you....

Hi Caroline,

Her teeth are fine. It is coming from the gut. Definately not sweet, but foul, like bacterial. I remember being around a man who had a serious problem with crohns and he smelled the same way...:-(( She doesn't however have any blood markers indicating inflammation so can only think it's a tough bacteria. She did have high stool clostridia two years ago but my doctor said " Nothing to worry about!"

Sweetish smell in makes me think of glucose metabolism. I know very little about this area so sorry to say, can't help you there.

:-)))

Hi , how are you?

Sorry taken me so long to answer, haven't been around much.

has for yrs had very foul breath, and constipation, definitely not a teeth problem, you can tell really the smell seems to come from way down, but it would knock you back!

Anyway we did Candex as it says on the bottle 2 in the morning no food for an hour, then CP1, and Sac Boulardi, at weekends went for it with Oxy powder.

His breath is now OK, not all gone because it comes back, he does have a very sweet tooth which doesn't help, but with sugar restrictions, and the Candex on top of his usual supps then it is under control.

What's interesting is my youngest has the exact opposite problem or I should say had, but his supps have virtually cleared up his gut issues, he never had bad breath but foul smelling diarrhoea, he rarely has loose stools these days and almost always if he does it will be because of sugar, so similar causes but different presentations of gut problems?

Something else I noticed with the boys is the old fashioned advice of little and often, particularly , 3 square meals with nothing in between seems to make his breath problem worse as it would be first thing in the morning, light sugar free snacks really do help him.

Crikey if she has not gone yet after 10 caps of Oxypowder I would say maybe some gut problems going on for sure, beware of explosions.... Do you think pH might be an issue eg Ammonia production in urine or maybe she needs lemon juice with the Oxy to acidify things a bit, some folks find that makes it work better...

I am really interested in the High dose Vitamin A... Did you use this for Viral issues? How did you do it? I supsect that might be a viral kid and thats why NCD seems to agree with her. Another question did you say her bowel issues eg constiaption got better after doing this viral protocol?

Good Luck honey hope your daughter feels better soon.

We were never able to establish either.

She was originally dxed with severe ADHD, late talker and extreme learning problems and was on another planet....twirled alot and did headstands as she said it made her head feel better. Clinical signs, terrible constipation, constant tummy aches, red ears, dilated pupils, OCD to the extreme. Her case is interesting in that although she didn't show DSMIV class symptoms for autism, her labs showed similar results to those of children with autism... high Gliado/caso morphin levels, sulphation problems, high IGE to milk and wheat, extreme malabsorption, stool tests showed barely readable Bifidus and Lactobaccilus. She was high in Clostridia, although we don't know which type.

I was one of the first to try out the Vit A high dose and it worked like a charm....

After 6 years, she is no different from her peers. She is very excitable and there is the "breath odour " issue but apart from that I am very pleased with her progress. Her teachers tell me they would never have suspected she had any extreme learning problems. She is in a normal school that prides itself on sending grads to Cambridge and Oxford....

I think antibiotics played a big part in her problems. When she was around 14 months, the doctor put her on three or four different antibiotics within a week to resolve an upper respiratory tract problem :-0

I'm okay....Thanks for asking :-))

You seem to have solved the problem. Whew, so there is light at the end of the tunnel. I'd hate for her to go through life with this foul air hanging around her. I think I'll try the candex. I have just noted that after giving her 5 caps of Oxypowder last night she hasn't gone. I gave another 5 caps 2 hours ago and still nothing. She drinks plenty of water always so she must be feeling pretty bloated. She hates being asked about bowel issues so I try not to ask. Hopefully she'll get a real clean-out n the course of the day.

Thanks for all your good advice.

:-)))

Re:Help, Bad Breath/Bullying

hi this product is a miraclly and not expensive if looked after couldlast upto 6 months.available from nutricentre. just type toothbrush on the search panel.nasreenMiswak -- the natural toothbrushPublic care of one's teeth is perfectly acceptable in SaudiArabia, and is done with the miswak (pictured), a naturaltoothbrush-cum-toothpaste. This multi-purpose stick cleans the mouth, whitens the teeth and sweetens the breath, and is widely usedthroughout the Arab world. Muslims use it on the recommendation of the Prophet Mohammed (maypeace be upon him), who used to use it during fasting and also advisedits use as a breath freshener before prayer. By contrast with theconventional plastic toothbrush, the miswak can be used any time, anywhere. It completely dispenses with the need for toothpastesqueezing, vigorous brushing, foaming at the mouth or spitting. The best source of the miswak is the root of the arak tree(salvadora persica), more commonly known as the 'toothbrush tree'. Thearak tree grows in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Southern Egypt, Chad andEastern parts of India. In other parts of the Muslim world where thearak tree is not found, other trees are used for the same purpose.Strips of bark are used in Morocco and the nim tree in India. Many young Saudis combine modern and traditional methods, bybrushing with a plastic toothbrush in the morning and carrying amiswak with them to work or college, in order to freshen their breathas the day progresses, especially before praying. Dental research has discovered interesting information about themiswak. Chemical analysis revealed that it contains a total of 19natural substances, which are beneficial to dental health. Its naturalantiseptics have a bactericidal action, killing harmfulmicro-organisms in the mouth, the tannic acid it contains hasastringent qualities which protect the gums from disease, and itsaromatic oils increase salivation. Because of its built-inantiseptics, the miswak needs no cleaning, and because its bristlesare parallel to the handle rather than perpendicular, it can reachmore easily between the teeth, where a conventional toothbrush oftenmisses. The large supermarkets and modern pharmacies in Saudi Arabia'scities do not sell the miswak. To buy one, you need to seek out thestreet vendors in the souks or in the front of mosques. Afterpurchase, the miswak should be soaked in water for a few hours. Thissoftens the natural fibres, which helps them to separate when the topquarter-inch of bark is pared away with a sharp knife. Chewing thebristles for another minute or so will help to separate them further. The teeth can then be cleaned by drawing the miswak from the edge ofthe gums up or down to the cutting edge of the teeth. The miswak has ataste, which has been described as "pleasantly bitter". The dazzlingly white smile of the Saudis bear witness to the factthat nature can really excel in the field of dental care.
