Guest guest
>The Arabian chemist, Al-Kindi (Alkindus), wrote in the 9th century a book on perfumes which he named Book of the Chemistry of Perfume and Distillations. It contained more than a hundred recipes for fragrant oils, salves, aromatic waters and substitutes or imitations of costly drugs. The book also described 107 methods and recipes for perfume-making, and even the perfume making equipment, like the alembic, still bears its Arabic nameal-Hassani, Woodcok and Saoud (2006) 1001 Inventions; Muslim Heritage in Our World, FSTC, p.22. Does anyone have a copy of this book in English? How about in a word file or PDF? Thanks, Kiler< I don't but would love to find out if anyone else does too! Guest guest
> unluckily all it said was that the book was currently unavailable and > that there were no customer reviews..... :-))) yes, but there is the ISBN and the publisher name (published in 2002) so maybe someone speaking (reading) German can make a search for someone selling this book. Maybe there is also a digital library (like archive or Gallica) where we could search. Bella from Tel Aviv

Good work :-) My parents live in Paris so I could eventually ship to them and then outside EU, but at the end the book will be very expensive, and I am afraid to be disappointed. Maybe we can try to contact the publisher, or stick for now to the old books available on the net. Bella from Tel Aviv
Guest guest
Geez is the book written in Arabic? Imagine trying to translate that. That book in English would be worth it's weight in gold. Jaylee Dragonfly Creek Farm Oregon
