I thought Arm and Hammer was good. That's what we have

been using. Let me know if you find out it's not safe to use

in the sauna.

jp

Hello everyone, Saturday night I did a 03 sauna directly after my

friend. We both experienced headaches and were not " well " the next day.

The only different element I can think of in the routine was that I

washed the towels in Arm and Hammer laundry soap, while in the past I

used the " evironmentally safe " (Eco- something) detergent.

Anyone have similar experience?

I originally thought it was good but they have most of the additives of

other washing powders. They add baking soda and play off their reputation

from years of being the baking soda people. Have you tried Planet

Solutions? Doesn't clean quite as well but after what I have heard about

H2O2 in the bathtub I am going to give that a try to get that extra

whiteness. Good luck. Ken

P.S. I think I am a distributor if planet solutions(multi level but seems

to be good - doesn't lather like shampoo and other soaps - can be used for

almost all purposes) if you decide to give it a try. Any commissions goes

to IRI - a non-profit research institute to benefit children with

developmental difficulties.

That is a detox reaction.

Has nothing to do with the towel detergent.

Drink a glass of water before entering and a glass of

water after exiting. This usually eliminates the headache.

Dr Pressman, I'm skeptical about this being a cleansing reaction. This

reminded me more of when I made the mistake of using a

store-direct-unwashed piece of cloth for a castor oil pack. Some/most

fabrics are treated with formeldahyde. My liver swelled, and I was ill

for three days.

We both had loud, hard beating hearts as well.

I bought the environmentally soap today; gonna try again.........

alltogether,

Arm & hammer was the eco brand before any of the other " eco " brands came

on the market. Look for something else. That's not it.

My intuition told me to use only ECO-washing powder for towels used in the O3

sauna. I use 4 newly washed towels with each sauna treatment.

Your experience tells me: I'm happy that I listened to the small voice inside.

Could also be the dye from the towel if it wasn't a

white towel. But still believe it was a detox or

healing reaction to the 03 sauna. Headaches are a

normal reaction.

I've never been in one of these, but isn't the cabinet itself synthetic? It is

heated and ozonated. Might that cause outgasssing? Has the air quality been

tested? Does the ozone " overcome " or fully neutralize any outgassing? Maybe

there is no outgassing. I'd think one would look at that before bad towels. Rob

Dear Rob,

Neither the cabinet nor the towels are at fault.

It is a detox reaction, whether it is acknowledged

or not.
