Thanks you Tasha, Jill and for your responses. It is very encouraging

to know that bracing is also effective. We are scheduled for 's first

brace in May. How do you respond to your child's resistance to wearing it?

is the same age, 28 months and finding her independence. Any tips? Also,

how do you know you are putting it on correctly? Is it true you have to remove

it with every diaper change?

Thanks for your feedback, I am so happy to hear your children doing well....and

on their way.

Re: 's 5th cast-SLC

,

Sorry I meant to add in my last post........ went into his brace at 15

degrees. We sent his xrays to Dr. and he agreed with what 's doc was

wanting to do.

Again every child is different and responds differently. In 's case he had

stayed at pretty much the same degree, anywhere from 18-20, so it was time to

see what would happen-at least for us it was.

We returned from SLC on Friday. Prior to having her cast removed she was holding

at 9 degrees. We requested an out of cast xray and it showed 19 degrees. She is

now in her 5Th cast holding at 9 degrees again. We were a little taken back by

the out of cast xray (her back looks great, other than a bursa sack and some

bruising), and her doctor states that they usually go to a brace when the curve

is less than 10 degrees out of cast, however he wants us to return in 3 months

and put her in a brace. He stated that it would be good for her to have a " cast

holiday " and strengthen her trunk muscles. If she does not hold or improve in

the brace then he would cast her again. Has anyone had a similar experience and

what are your thoughts?

I haven't had a chance to read all the posts. I am always thinking of all of you

and hope all is well. I will try to catch up soon.

Thanks in advance,

right thoracic curve)
