Guest guest
Hi Bill, I would like to talk more about cognitive issues. I don't see any postings from you just the welcome note. I'm 45 and have noticed over the past 2 years that my short term memory is not as good as it should be. I was thinking that this might be part of CMT as I was diagnosed 2 years ago. Does anyone else have memory issues? Lehrie
Guest guest
The issue with cognition is unrelated to CMT, as I've been informed in this newsgroup. However, short-term memory is a concern for me, as well. I've had an MRI, which indicated no pathology. And my analytical skills are undiminished. (I know this sound snooty and hope it'll be edited out: It's been suggested that I try Sudoku, but I think I've figured out all the techniques already.) Perhaps it has to do with depression, with which I've been dealing for many years. We'll keep in touch as we progress and hope others with similar concerns will participate. Guest guest
I know it's not in any of the materials, but I've been curious lately, too, as I find myself more often scrambling for words. Reaching for an idea just beyond my fingertips. Of course, it could be the antidepressants, pain meds, and/or various other assistive medications that I take now. I've had more rapid progression over the past year. Who knows? Curiouser and curiouser . . . Lenka
Guest guest
I had real issues while taking Neurontin. When I started on Lyrica -- 3 months ago -- my memory became more acute. I still have some problems. It once took me 2 days to drag out of my mush that the tool I needed was a bolt cutter. I hope I get more cognition back.
