Guest guest
Once, I went to a chiropracter. It was after a car accident and my attorney said " I have a friend... " He wanted me to go to this guy because they work together ($) I went to the chiro's office. It was filthy dirty, clients in and out like a freeway, the longer I sat and waited and wondered why an attorney would recommend this nut, I realized this was not for me. Not with CMT and all, plus sustaining neck injuries and having a medically diagnosed concussion. I told the attorney I'd find my own medical help, and either he wanted me as a client or not, because the city is crawling with attorneys. lol, but he still agreed to keep me as a client and yes, I won the lawsuit. Back to spinal manipulation, I had it then through a licensed physical therapist, and monitored by my Internist. I also had some other good care from the PT and I recovered nicely from the accident. Because I have CMT, I am very careful who touches me and where. I am also very careful to choose the 'right' people for my needs. And ask them upfront about their knowledge of CMT, etc. It is important for me to stick with Western Medicine, and continue to live my life in a way that is best for me. If someone with CMT asked me if I would recommend a chiro for them, I would tell this story and suggest they definitely consider all sides in relation to their individual CMT. I would recommend Physical Therapy instead. Followed by a medically supervised exercise program of some sort that helped the spine. This is just my experience and it has worked well for me. ~ Gretchen
