Guest guest
Greetings to the soapmakers on this list! I'm asking for help because I followed the directions regarding quantity in adding essential and fragrance oils to melt-and-pour soap. Then I quickly wrapped the soap in plastic wrap to avoid losing the scent. When I gave the soap to my daughter, less than a month later, she said the smell was way too strong. Should I have let the soap sit in the air? When I put it into the plastic wrap, I could hardly smell the scents (patchouli and the other was pineapple & cilantro), so I felt the scents needed protection from contact with air. How did the scent get stronger while sitting in the plastic wrap? What does this mean in terms of what steps I should follow the next time? Any help appreciated.
