brace question ~ How long is the process

Landon is possibly in his last cast and may be fitted for a brace the first part

of January. I am curious how it all works. If the brace is special made does

it take a week or two to receive? I am asking because he also has Chiari brain

malformation and I need to schedule his surgery. I am hoping to schedule it

after he is in his brace and some what use to it so it can easily go back on a

few days after surgery.

Mommy to Landon, 15 months

~ 25 degree curve w/ an RVAD of 24

~ 8/28/07 - 12 degrees in 1st cast with an RVAD of 2

~ 11/20/07 - " ZERO " in his 2nd cast !!!! Hoping for a brace in January !!!

~ 8/27/07 - diagnosed w/ Chiari brain malformation

~12/04/07 - 2nd opinion at UCLA (surgery to be scheduled/possibly Jan 2008)

Ian's brace was molded and made all in one day. It was a VERY long process

though and we did end up having to go back the very next day because it needed

additional trimming.
