Lysine suppresses the functioning of the herpes, although it doesn't kill it directly. To kill (actually inactivate) the herpes virus, we have found that funneling at the base of the spine is effective over the longer term (months). Herpes hides out in the nerve ganglia there and is difficult to reach with other methods. Outbreaks are associated with lowered immunity due to stress, so maintain a steady intake of Vitamin C, zinc, garlic, and the all important B vitamins. The whey extracts such as Immunocal will help as well. A liver cleanse will also boost immunity. Best of Health!
