Guest guest
I made this aftershave (recipe below) once to great appreciation from a male friend. Maybe some rosemary or citrus EO would work well with the clove for your man's soap? However, do be aware that clove EO is a powerful skin irritant and should be used carefully. My aromatherapy notes for clove are as follows: aromatherapy class: stimulating, energising aroma type: spicy traditional use: muscle relaxant, soothing agent blends well with: basil, black pepper, cinnamon, citronella, grapefruit, lemon, nutmeg, orange, peppermint, rosemary, rose Margaret D Aftershave from " The Herbal Body Book " by Tourles 2 cups witch hazel 1 sprig fresh rosemary 1 sprig mint of choice 1 stick cinnamon 5-10 whole cloves 2 strips fresh orange peel cut into spirals 2 strips fresh lemon peel cut into spirals 15 drops of tincture of benzoin Place all in bottle. Cap tightly and store for 2 weeks. Use and enjoy. I would assume you could skip the herbs and add FO, perhaps also deleting benzoin. Probably used for preservative with fresh herbs. Man Soap with Clove I want to create a new scent for a man's soap. I like the smell of a little bit of clove because to me its very manly smelling. Not quite sure what other EO's I should mix with the clove to create something really nice, but not a pumpkin pie. :-) Any ideas? Thanks a lot Rose

I love patchouli with a little clove for a man's soap....although it isn't a scent that is too masculine to share. Guest guest
One scent considered to be a 'man's' scent is basil. It has alot in common with clove too as far as scent goes. Sage too makes a nice man's scent. Both go well with citrus. Hmm, I wonder what basil, sage and orange would smell like? Basil is good for stress and nervousness. Maybe I should try a soap like that! Guest guest
Clove blends well with oils like lavender, lime, patchouli, cedarwood, orange, bay, rosemary, bergamot, ylang, rose, sandalwood, amber and myrrh. Just be sure to keep it in the background as a base note. Cat > Not quite sure what > other EO's I should mix with the clove to create something really nice, but > not > a pumpkin pie. :-) Any ideas?
