Guest guest
, In an earlier post you said " we CMTers have a high tolerance for pain " . That generalization does not apply to me, and yes, I have CMT. Ever since I was a small child, I have experienced the " foot burning " pain, and can feel it immediately. Fortunately, over the years I have learned to manage it without medications, but instead with changing shoes, ice, going barefoot, massage, etc. But I want you to know that my pain tolerance is very low. Always has been. I am just grateful I do not have the terrible CMT pain you and others hand. Even for other CMT related issues - like 'emotional pain'. Even for non-CMT surgical pain. Even when I sliced my finger (while slicing vegetables, the pain was major) My pain tolerance is low. It has been helped by taking Vitamin E for 10 years to the point I feel now I am more 'normal' in my reaction to physical and even emotional pain. Again I must say that just because we have CMT, our experiences are different due to our unique genetic code. I really appreciate your input into our discussions, but I feel " generalizations " of CMT are not sharing 'personal experience'. ~ Gretchen
