Guest guest
Trina, My vote is to follow your gut instinct about the therapist. The times that I have overridden my gut, I end up regretting it. The therapist has to have a combination of knowledge about OCD/therapy for OCD AND a desire and skill in working with children. One of those qualifications is not enough! Kent has to feel really good about the therapist as s/he will be asking a lot of him when they start the ERP. And the therapist, no matter how responsive, HAS to know how to treat OCD or else you are wasting your time. Keep looking...the rule most of us follow here is if you are unsure about a therapist, you should see some movement by the 4th or 5th session. If not, it's time to move on.
