Guest guest
Hi Lenka, I noticed a considerable step progression in my CMT symptoms after the birth of my daughter 7 years ago. Pregnancy and childbirth are known to 'exacerbate' CMT and other neuromuscular disorders. Just in case you didn't know... I've tried a few pain medications but none have really helped without unwanted side-effects; Neurontin, Lyrica, and most recently Topamax. None of them really gave me much relieve from the pain -- certainly not enough to have to deal with the side-effects. Neurontin and Lyrica made me the most 'loopy' or mentally foggy. I just started Topamax about three weeks ago but it seemed to actually worsen the pain and electrical impulses/twitches. I know that a lot of people have had success with Topamax so I was very hopeful but I had to stop it today and I actually feel much better after stopping...go figure. Actually, butalbitol (tylenol, barbituate, caffeine), which was prescribed for my migraines, works about as well as anything for me ATM. My husband says that I just don't tolerate meds of any kind very well. I'm allergic to hydrocodone!
