<< We spoke early and she said sometimes she sleeps three or four hours a

night, sometimes only one. She is exhausted and reaching out for help. Can

any of us help her, I wonder? >>

I take 3mg. of melatonin around 8:30 every evening that I am at home, and by

11 or

11:30 PM I am quite relaxed, drowsy, and sleep deeply. It is good to take

it some

hours before going to bed, as taking it at bedtime can make you somewhat

groggy

the next morning. dorothy

>She a vegetarian, eats very well, has, literally, no bad habits, takes no drugs

[i know, I know]; leads a clean, decent life but can't go to sleep like we can.

What can I suggest to her, if you know? Many thanks, Obie.

Whatta ya mean clean decent life? She's up all night, isn't she?

Seriously, have her look into melatonin supplementing before bedtime. An

inexpensive source is beyond-a-century.com . They have a sublingual form.

(I just posted this on another list-hopefully she can find relief)

Some suggestions we use:

1.Fresh fruit juices b4 bed.

2.Turkey b4 bed

3.B-vitas

4.Melatonin

5.Neck & shoulder massage-very firm

6.Magnetic N-pole mattress

7.Lemon oil water b4 bed

8.temples rubbed lightly & rythmatically in circular motion (usually by

partner)

9.Think chain-think of a favorite thing & sequence it in your mind as you

relax. Repeat every night.

10. Sound machine-water sounds

11. ear plugs

12. Neck roll ( or towel or 2 tennis balls in a sock) while laying flat

for 15 min.-body reaches still-point. Do every night b4 bed & anytime

during day.

13. Pretzel (our name for it) or Cook's Hook-ups from Brain Gym: for bed:

lay & cross the ankles, then stretch arms out & place hands back to back,

palms outward. While in this position, cross wrists & clasp hands.

Usually it is most comfortable to then make a pretzel w/ the arms &

elbows. You can even sleep like this. This connects all the energy

currents in the body & recharches the whole system. Good to do anytime

for stress & energy.

Melatonin...3-6mg at bedtime

along with Kava Kava [2 350 mg capsules]

and 250-500 mg chelated magnesium.

That helps me.

Excersize during the daytime--walking

and swimming helps me sleep better at night.

When I skip excersize, I find it

harder to fall/stay asleeep.

I take a nice hot bath and

I have a chi machine and use that sometimes

prior to bedtime and hubby often gives me a

nice footrub.

PNT200 from Immunotec. It is a milk decapeptide that attaches to the

benzodiazepine receptors exactly. No addiction, confusion, or motor skill

loss even with long-term use. It is destined to replace all valium

prescriptions and most SSRI prescriptions. Order it for my cost below.
