hi there glad to find a group about ocd. My oldest daughter ashleigh

who is 11 was diagnosed with OCD 2 yrs ago. They tried to say she was

adhd at first. But there was no way this child was adhd when she

could sit in her room, watching tv 24/7 if you let her. My 10 yr old

becky has mild ocd along with dyslexic. I also have a 8 yr old boy he

doesnt have ocd.

I hope to find some insights on this problem, and help along with

meeting other parents who are going through the same problems. I live

in illinois, married 12 yrs to my grouchy hubby shawn. nice to meet

I forgot to mention, ashleigh was put on adderal for her ocd, it

helped at first then after a year when she was taking it, her

problems got worse so we eventually took her off it. Shes doing alot

better any one else have had this problem because

nice to meet you too, i have a 10 year old boy who was diagnosised with gad,

depression and ocd, and we also live in illinois, jake my son is now on 100 mg

of seroquel and 30 mg of paxil, i also have a 7 year old daughter who does not

have anything so far. he was diagnosised in feb of this year and i know he has

had a nightmare with all of this and i know that i feel the same way, welcome

to the group

Welcome. You will find great support here. I just have a few

questions. How does your daughter's ocd show itself?? I am very familiar with Adderal, but not for ocd.

My son Mike is now 14, dx at 9 with ocd, adhd, and bi-polar at 11. It is not uncommon for kids with adhd to be able to sit and watch tv. In fact our doc recommended that be the activity for the 1st hour in the morning until the adderal started to work.

Let us know what kind of ocd things she does, that would be helpful. in NJ
