I just found out this past Friday that I do not have CMT, but that I

do have HNPP. I went to the MDA back in September to get some extra

help. I was not able to move my left foot hardly at all, and had foot

drop. My foot dragged when I walked. I was given an AFO through the

MDA. The MDA Doctor saw my test result that another Doctor had done.

He decided that my first result were not all that bad and to redo the

test himself. I could not get an appointment to see him for a few

months though. In the meantime in December I suddenly was able to

move my left foot again and no longer dragged my foot when I walked.

I decided to just wait to tell the MDA Doctor until I saw him at my

appointment since it was only a few weeks away anyway. Then this past

Firday I saw the MDA Doctor. He redid the EMG/NVC and said that the

test were a little bit better than the first one. It showed that the

nerves were still weak and not normal, but it was at least better.

He also did the tests on my left hand and arm, which is also weaker than it

should be. He said that I definetely do not have CMT, but that I 100% have

HNPP.

I know that I still will have problems and it could happen again to that leg

again, or any other body part, but it is good news.

On another note I have decided to go back to school to become a

Medical Assistant. I am so excited about this. I was wondering if it

would still be ok to post here even though I do not have CMT? I would

love to still help with suggestions and stuff if that would be ok?

Thank you for always listening and helping!

Missy
