Allergies and Infantile Scoliosis

Hi everyone,

This is probably far fetched but I still have to ask. When Haley was

3 mos old she was diagnosed with food allergies to milk, wheat and

peanuts (we stay away from ALL nuts). The doctors said she should

outgrow the milk and wheat by the time she is 1 year of age. There is

only a 20% chance she will outgrow the peanut allergy. She is now 16

mos and we had a visit with the allergy doctor last week and they took

her blood to re-test her for the 8 common food allergens along with

some other common allergens (grass, mold, pet dander, etc....) Well,

the doctor called yesterday with the results. Not only has she not

outgrown the milk or wheat allergies, she now has developed allergies

to eggs, soy, oats, and pet dander. Also, the peanut test came back

with a higher allergic response than the first. Soooo, not only are

we VERY upset she hasn't outgrown the allergies, she now has MORE!!!

That's just great, her diet was already restricted, now what will she

eat? What will I eat ( I'm still nursing)? Before we were in this

position, I felt bad for those people who could not eat certain foods,

but now I know how it truly does change your entire lifestyle! No more

eating out (due to cross-contamination) Haley can't enjoy b-day cake

and ice-cream at parties and so on. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, I am TRULY

SORRY for rambling, but several people have asked us if her " back

problem " is associated with these allergies. Just wondering if anyone

knows of any syndromes associated with infantile scoliosis that

include food allergies???? For anyone still reading this, thanks for

listening!

Misty and Haley
