Zoloft

Hi ,

I don't know if I did not explain myself quite good concerning SSRI Zoloft.

Yes I meant as said that starting the med with a low dose & then

gradually go up with it will not develop that horrible side effect. That's

how I read about it, & in the same time when we want to stop taking it, also

it has to be reduced gradually. I don't know why his doc decided at that

time to start with 200mg. Then Amer went on with taking Zoloft for almost

two years & he was doing fine, then he had shifted to another SSRI b/c it

started to be less effective. Anyway its a long story with medications, its

almost as they say trial & error, the same med will work with one & does not

work with another. Good luck with your son, hope that Zoloft will work with

him to end up with syptoms free hopfully.

Thanks for your input. Lydia has been on the Zoloft since July 1st.

We were seeing the doctor every week and he raised her from 25mg to

100mg in 4 weeks and then wanted to raise it again. His reasoning was

that he wanted her symptoms to completely subside. It seems that the

worse time of the day for her is evening, she has fears that someone

will break into the house, hurt me, etc. Every time we increased the

med it seemed like something new would start. Now that she's back

down to 25mg, I'm going to take it slow with increasing dosages. I'm

not ready to give up on the Zoloft for her because I know it made a

wonderful difference in the treatment of my OCD.
