Guest guest
Hi : I just wanted to share with you an experience Rob and I had yesterday with Gavin..I was thinking of your hikes and 'Walk with Me' the whole way. We've been trying to find ways to keep the family skiing together, as it has been a big part of our life and Gavin loves the outdoors. We been pulling him in a sled since he was 5 months old. We've (actually Rob...LOL!) been lately pulling him in a ski-sled and letting him out for short skis..being wizzed past by others. He quickly wants to get back in and be pulled. His progression over the last year has made it harder for him to ski. Yesterday we tried a different tack. We let him pick an 'adventure' trail in the woods off the main one. He strapped on his skis and we went with him, very slowly, around an entire 1 km trail. He was singing and joking and having a ball, watching for birds and animal tracks, checking out signs for tree types, proud of how he handled some 'hills' and 'climbs'. It was such fun...a perfect day of warm sun and fresh snow...I think somehow being away from the fast crush made it easier. Thanks for your inspiration...we are finally finding the best way to do things his way. Thanks Sally
