Welcome Kathy, thanks so much for introducing yourself. You're in good

company here. Lots of " Mom's " here :)

I hope you find to be a helpful and hopeful place.

Welcome Kathy!

I just found out that I have CMT about a month ago. I have 5 children and I have

been back and forth with deciding on whether or not to get them tested. Some of

them, one son in paticular, have difficulties with fine motor skills. I am also

glad to have found a support group.

Thank you for posting! Though I don't wish anyone to go through pain, it's

" conforting " to know you are not alone. I hope your son's fatigue lessens soon.

We schooled our son for the last 2 yrs at home & boy, did we notice a huge

improvement in him not being so weary.

My son had a tendon transfer last spring on the worst foot. Unfortunately that

foot now really turns on its side (not as a result of the surgery), causing his

gait to worsen along with the pain.

The only drugs doctors have offered have been the depression drugs. Since the

side effects include one of his struggles as of late, we're not willing to try

that route as yet. He did try the neurontin for a time, but didn't seem to think

it really helped him.

I agree with you... if any Rx's would work that would be great! We have also

been looking for a support group, so that he wouldn't feel so alone. In our area

there just doesn't seem to be anything for young people but we'll keep looking.

Thank you again for posting. I look forward to learning more with you.
