Guest guest
Dear Friends, Sorry for my long silence. After 's Bat Mitzvah, I took some time off to get things together. I gave a workshop last week at the state Social Workers' convention on OCD and Children. The response was fabulous! There were 120 social workers at my session with more wanting to come if there had been room. I explained OCD, ERP/CBT, meds for kids and why we needed more therapists to treat these kids!!! I passed out lots of literature for the OCFoundation. And everyone there got a rubber roach, so they would get a " hands on " feeling of what contamination OCD feels like. I'm waiting to see what the evaluations of the session say as they are supposed to be forwarded to me soon. 's p-doc, the same one who prescribed topamax, now has recommended that she take DMG to help her read social cues better. He says that this is now being used with autistic kids and does wonders for them. I found it at Vitamin World and will give it to tomorrow so I can monitor her over the holiday weekend. As most of you know, 's p-doc has been on the cutting edge of many of the meds, so I'm hoping to see some positive outcome from this one. She begins work with Bertman, a psychologist from the Yale Group, in 2 weeks. just moved here to work at Tulane University's new Adult OCd program and she agreed to take .
