Guest guest
Can anyone give some pointers here? I started my own scoby by scratch, using a raw Kombucha (GTs) and its been about a week. During the first 4-5 days my brew was bubbling away. Tiny effervescent bubbles were fermenting and I started to get some nice floatees. Its now been about 9 days and there is a thin coat across the top of my jar, but all of the fermenting seems to have stopped; there are no more bubbles coming up and there is a lot of sediment on the bottom. No mold though. I have a light on the jar to help it stay warm and I have the top covered with a towel, so it can breath. Is my scoby dead, or am I just being too impatient? Some feedback would be great. My orignal recipe was 1qt water 2/3 Cup of sugar about 3 black tea bags and 3 green tea bags (loose Jasmine and green tea) 1 bottle of raw Gts Kombucha thanks ahead of time for the feedback.
