Spigot found

I wanted to share my good news in case anyone would find this useful. I have a

certain jug that has a terrible spigot. It is always clogged with the stuff that

floats in the brew and settles at the bottom. The last time I emptied it, I just

made it easy and poured the brew out of the top. I have to wash it every time

it's emptied to give the spigot chance to be clean for a little while.

So I have been looking for a spigot for months and months. I sort of figured out

that the best ones to use are the ones that force the drink out. The kind that

are on the original sun tea jars that have a rubber button that pushes down. But

I have not been able to find them in all my searches. I could only find the

jugs. Well, my newest $10 crock find that I fell upon has yet another kind of

spigot. It has a different design, but it is a button design that forces the

fluid out. It also has its own stopper that will aid in the battle of the fruit

flies, I think. I will have to see about that theory next year, tho. Last night

I finally did the right search with the right search engine and found the

picture. I did a BING search for " Plastic Spigot " and the first picture is the

one. At least it is similar to the one on the new crock I have. Mine has a wider

spout, so maybe this one is not exactly it, but it is the closest I have found

in all my searches. I went onto axner.com and found it on their site by

searching for plastic spigot.

I just wish these came in a color because I will be replacing two other spigots

with these to make dispensing easier and quicker. And eggshell doesn't add to

the look of my crocks.

I also bought a bathrobe at a second hand store made coats for my crocks and cut

carpet for under them to keep them from contacting a hard, cold shelf. Just

trying to think of ways to keep them warm.
