Guest guest
So again I ask why they think it’s a problem that you lost weight. I know you haven’t been eating right because you’ve been sick, but geez, you’ve been sick. You’ll eat better when you feel better. It’s not like you’re on a hunger strike or something. Guest guest
I was eating poorly before I got sick. It's not the t p people or the liver docs that aren't happy I've been losing weight, it's the dietitian. They get stuffy about stuff like not eating. She gave me a diet that would be giving me more calories than I've been taking in during the last few months & cuts down the salt. She doesn't say it's a problem just that I should do it the right way eat properly & exercise. SuZie Motley wrote: So again I ask why they think it’s a problem that you lost weight. Aren’t you exercising when you go to stir the soup on the stove? De RE: Overweight & t p I was eating poorly before I got sick. Guest guest
Hi Ya Suzie Q I didn't have the problem of losing weight had fluid building up like crazy. Like most people in late cirrhosis stages I did lose my appetite food had no taste and had to stop eating 3 regular meals a day and eat 5 to 6 smaller meals throughout the day for it to go down not get stuck hurt more digest better and help control sugars too. Being large with fluid and ascites or losing weight is common and both could have signs of malnutrition because of not being able to digest process what we eat or supplements anymore. Diet recommendations especial for ESLD has changed and I'm curious what they are now. I was on a full balanced diet but low fats no bad fats low salt all fresh more of fruits veggies smaller portions of lean meats mostly chicken and pork. Than because of ascites encephalopathy and fluid had to watch it more closely salts and little to no lean red meat and divide it into 5 to 6 smaller meals per day. Honey Hang In There !!!!!!!!!! We Love Ya. Deb
