Hey Guys and girls,

here is a question for u...How many of you with CMT have solid AFOs on both

legs? And how many people have bilateral (both feet)AFOs with joints? And if

you will give a description of how progressed CMT is for you. This may actually

be a good poll question.

I have solid plastic AFOs on both feet..they don't have hinges....I am

somewhat progressed in that I have problems with balance and my gait is

messed up...also, my quadriceps are pretty weak and my right knee

hyperextends....

I have read that solid AFOs on both feet make it harder to ambulate,

but my orthotist seemed to think that AFOs with hinges would not be for

me...any ideas?

thanks

Jimmy
