CMT and careers

I had no idea that I had CMT until last year, so I never chose a career based on

my condition but rather focused on what I was good at doing and what I enjoyed.

Today I am a commercial negotiator for a major oil company, spending my time in

planes and meeting rooms all over the world, with all different types of people

working on projects that are complex and always a challenge. Although I get

tired, nothing is beyond the realm of possibility and I use the plane time to

sleep and also like good hotel beds! There is

not a limit as far as I can see right now, although in the future I will try to

slow down as even for a " normal " person the pace of the job can be a bit much!

And when I do get a chance to be at home, there is nothing more that I like than

an easy day at work, a quick trip to the gym, and an early evening at home with

my husband! It is all a matter of how you manage things - for example I just do

not do cleaning any more and have hired a cleaner, as it tires me out and

frankly I would rather focus my time doing stuff that releases stress and makes

me happy.

Not sure this is an answer, but good luck to you and your nephew.
