Hi

Kathy… Llinda here in Idaho. I am 54 with type 1a, did tx in 2004-05 and

was still clear at one year. I live on a mini ranch with the hubby, 6 cats, 3

dogs (just found a border collie with a broken rear leg, she was starved and undoubtedly

beaten, she’s mine now!) 14 llamas, 20 assorted parrots, and around 60 homing

pigeons, fantails, and doves. Gee.. feels like I am leaving something out…

Oh ya.. one Betta, lol.

I was dx’d

with Polyarthritis last summer. We

went round and round with dx’s of rheumatoid and finally settled on the Poly

after additional testing. Polyarthritis is caused be a virus and likely the

HepC. I have no insurance and am unable to see a rheumatologist and badgered my

GP into treating me. I am on prednisone and Mobic for the arthritis. Other

physical problems have me on trazadone, tramadol, flexeril, all which do help

some with the joint pain.

Hello all, I just joined your group. I was diagnosed with HCV about 10

years ago. I have gone through 2 rounds of interferon/ribavirin

unsuccessfully. These days I seem to have become more symptomatic and

wanted to reconnect with folks that understand. I'm a generally happy

person but some days the dragon can get you down. My newest ailment is

inflammatory arthritis. My doctor tells me this is common with HCV.

Any one experiencing the same, what treatments are you doing? Looking

forward to hearing from you.

Thanks, Kathy

Howdy d…

it is just blood tests. I don’t know what that last one is called, some

expensive one they had to send to Portland Ore which dx’d me as not RA,

but the Poly. Turns out Poly can turn into RA, but I am not going to worry

about that! The main difference between the two is that Poly affects muscles

and joints but there is no disfigurement as you get with the RA which affects

mainly the joints themselves.

Hope

they decide you don’t have either… it ain’t fun! But if you

do hope for the Poly.
