Guest guest
I was diagnosed with CMT in 2001 after breaking my right foot a year earlier. I went various doctors for more than a year. It was the last podiatrist I went to told me I had CMT. I was then referred to a neurologist. He did one test and also he confirmed I had CMT. I was then referred to the MDA clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. The doctor at the MDA clinic also diagnosed the CMT. Then he told me the neurologist did not do the second test. The clinic wanted to do it. But the MDA clinic was a joke. I then went to a third neologist where I was diagnosed with CMT Type 2. I did not have the DNA blood test the insurance would not pay for it. I need to find a neurologist that has seen and treated people with CMT or near Phoenix metro area. My insurance doesn't cover the Barrows neurological institute doctors nor the Mayo clinic doctors. I would also appreciate any other advice on doctors and physical therapists that could help in the Phoenix area. I have been member for a while.
