Guest guest
Hi Joyce, I take Xanax, but not regularly. I'll make my story quick as I can. I used to work nights and was used too staying up late. When I found out I had CMT1A about 3 years now, I still worked but my sleeping habits were always strange. Now I don't work at all,I can't, but it takes me hours to get my body going, so I'm not fully functional until 12 p.m., then I have a problem getting to sleep. Even when I do, I'll wake up 2 or 3 hours later and am ready to go again. Xanax lets me sleep a good 6 to 8 hours, but the only thing I don't like is the fact that it makes me groggy in the morning. My subscription is 2 a day, 1 milligram each. I usually split them in half. It all depends upon the person I guess. Point being, maybe having CMT makes me more tired in the morning. Otherwise, I have had times when I hyperventilated and yes, it helps alot. Hope I helped.
Guest guest
Butting in here... Just wondering if you've tried Provigil. It's great for regulating your sleep cycle and combating fatigue. You might want to ask your doctor about it. I take it as soon as I wake up and I'm ready to go. It used to be, before Provigil, that I'd wake up for about an hour and then go back to bed until about noon.
Guest guest
I just started taking it a couple of times this week as I am waiting for disability so that I can stop working. Right now I am in a lot of pain and worried so it is hard to fall asleep, though I am exhausted all day. I took a full dose a couple of nights and it knocked me out, but it was very hard to get up in the morning (though, again, it's hard to get up without it, too). I know it is very addictive, so I am being careful. I definitly do not want drugs as a lifestyle, but it's getting tough. Good luck, Lenka
