I never tasted any saltiness. But I did taste a brew made with just oolong (just

an experiment) and the first taste was sour, not the usual tart. But a few days

later, that taste had changed to more kombucha tart. So if I experienced what

you are, based on this experience, I would give it a couple more days and then

taste again.

Has anyone ever had their kombucha come out tasting salty? It's very

strange, because I did the same thing I always do-same amounts of organic

black tea and white sugar, same length of time-8 days. But even though it

is fizzy and tastes sort of the same, it also tastes salty. Is there

something wrong with the scoby? Should I throw it away?
