Guest guest
Once again, I have to say I love The FIRM and lately, the classics especially. So hard but so good. This one is an excellent blend of cardio and weights. They said they were pioneering interval training (that isn't the word they used but that was the sense) with this workout! You do cardio, often with lighter weights and then do weights then there's more cardio, then more weights for 3 cycles. There's a stretch, then floor work that was nowhere near as killer as Vol 1 was but they're good. Then you do abs and those were killers! My abs are already super sore from Vol 4 on Tuesday and yesterday's Vol 1 so I had a terrible time trying to do these. I think I skipped every other rep, it was just too painful and I was feeling it in my lower back (probably caused by lousy form at that point too). There's a lot of work with your legs up in the air and that would really hurt so I'd lower my legs but I was still dying so that's especially when I was skipping reps. The stretch at the very end was so short that you barely have time to stretch before you have to get into another position though! Sandahl Bergman cues pretty well but too often close to or on the move. If I did the workout more than once a year though I'd be able to anticipate moves a lot better and it wouldn't bother me. She does usually say what size weights to use, which was great. I usually went mid-range on the weights and that worked well. I did rows with 12s instead of 15s today and that was better too. The cardio was very simple and easy to follow too. Good workout overall for sure, glad I did it!
