Guest guest
We are having some building work carried out and the builder has just put his digger straight through the water pipes in our front garden! Now they have found that the pipes are lead. Does anyone know what we can expect from the water board. Are they likely to remove the pipes or will we have to pay? Guest guest
Thanks everyone, the builder has fixed the pipe and is going to replace with new ones. PS if it is the water company's lead pipes then normally they have a scheme where they will replace their side from the stopcock to the street mains free so long as you also replace your side ie from the stopcock to the cold water tap. There are rules and regulations about how the work myust be carried out - I would speak to my water company for information.
