Guest guest
Kim, hi, good to hear from you again. You said you have good muscle tone, but are being " treated with AFOs " . When I was 21, I went to an MDA clinic because my private neurologist suggested the docs there might be able to help my tremors. Long story short, the MDA docs had me ready to be measured for AFOs almost instantly! This is NOT why I was there at all. One more time no one in medical leadership listened. I intuitively knew I did not need AFOS and that my good muscle tone might be lost. To this day I do not need AFOs. And I later found other doctors who knew of help for my tremors. Back to my muscles - I started walking in sand more, and walking backwards more - I also started to swim more and use a kickboard more. Now my primary workout is an aquatics circuit, and I still am improving muscle tone all over. I have times when my hips " feel " tight. I have learned many exercises, especially in aquatics to loosen this feeling; pilates has also helped with this and strengthening the inner core and pelvis. ~ Gretchen
