Guest guest
The Instead was definitely more like a diaphragm, and I found it messier upon removal. Plus you had to keep buying them! Interesting what you said abput urination. I find that sometimes i need to remove the Diva Cup in order to fully empty my bladder, but it's worth the effort to me. It's way healthier for the body, too. > > > Before I discovered the Diva Cup, I used the Instead cup. >

Yeah, the Instead product is messier because it's shaped more like a diaphragm, whereas the Diva is a real cup. But the self-emptying 'feature' of the Instead helped with the messy aspect somewhat, at least for me it did. BTW, the product was not designed to empty upon urination. Although those of us who experienced that 'feature' were probably happy campers all. The other difference between the two products is that the Diva cup is not designed for use during intercourse. However, the Instead cup works fine for that purpose and is convenient for those who prefer non-messy sex during their period. In all honesty, I reused my Instead cups several times, with the approval of my obgyn. The product is far too durable to be treated as a disposable item, IMO. With careful washing/drying, never once did I have a health problem with reusing the Instead cup. I figure that my average rate of disposal per year was about one cup per monthly cycle. Even at an average of 12 per year, that's a very low contribution to the landfill. Best, ~CJ

I'm with you, . It's certainly the last thing on my mind. But apparently there are quite a few women who would disagree, claiming that their libido is turbo-charged during their period. They find sex to be helpful in alleviating menstrual cramps, headaches, etc. Ah, the power of endorphins! I don't get it myself, but each to their own. Guest guest
I find exercise works well for the endorphins for me. My libido is in the tanker during my period. I'd rather curl up with my fleece throw, a good book and my herbal tea! > > I'm with you, . My husband is thrilled for the first 24 hours...by the 4th day we're both looking forward to menopause in a big way. The joys of hormones!
