New member intro-Chris from MD

Hello All,

 

My name is I am female and 40 something.  My family and I live in Carroll County,MD.  We have been milking Nubian goats for the past 11 years.  We drink our milk raw, and I freeze enough to last us during the time when the does are dry.  I also make cheese and soap.

 

I have just recently agreed to buy a Jersey/Holstein cross cow.  We are picking her up next weekend- I am soo excited to have raw cows milk !  She is a 3 y/o first freshener bred back to a jersey bull.  She is currently producing 30 lbs and being milked once a day.  Looks like I better get the cheese making supplies ready!  Raw milk sales are not allowed in MD.

 

Gotta go.........we're heading out to the barn to finish building our " milking parlor " -- and it's about 13 degrees out there!
