Guest guest
We've been hand milking our jersey for several months now since she had her calf. Milk production has been good and steady. She shows no signs of mastitis. But every so often the cream will be extra sticky for several days. We can't shake it into the milk and my kids refuse to drink the lumpy milk. We've never had this problem before. Our other cow never had this problem with the milk although she did occasionally have mastitis. It is exceptionally hot lately. We live in Texas and have had temps at or above 100 frequently this year. She gets plenty of water, hay and pasture, and grain when milking. I haven't noticed if it could be cyclical. Maybe it's a hormonal thing? Just can't figure it out. Any suggestions? in the heart of Texas
