Guest guest
Carole, & nbsp; I have and do travel often. & nbsp; You defiantly want to carry your meds in your carry on. & nbsp; You can go to your pharmacy and get smaller bottles for travel. My doctor recommended this so you have your meds with you in smaller containers with labels on them (especially narcotics) this way if anything was to happen the people that are trying to help you will have the exact dosages/strengths so it will be easier to help you. & nbsp; This way you can also carry smaller amounts of your meds with you. & nbsp; I definitely also recommend taking a few extra days worth of meds with you in case your flight is cancelled/delayed, etc. & nbsp; This recently happened to me also. & nbsp; Also if your meds are liquid, injections or anything like that you can carry them on just make sure and let the & nbsp;security know ahead of time. & nbsp;Just suggestions. I hope you have a great trip. & nbsp; Angelia ville, AR
Guest guest
Carole, relax & enjoy your trip!!! In regards to your meds, take them with you on the plane! If they require refrigeration, place an ice pack on each side of the package in a little cooler, like the ones that come with those types of meds. Just be sure that all of you meds are in your name!!! That is of little concern, as I have flown in bad shape (required a wheelchair escort to & from terminals...take it if you want as it makes your life easy!!!) and my meds were the least of my worries. Going through security in a wheelchair was also a hell of a lot easier, as my wife & I breezed right through it. I disclosed my meds and that was that, no questions, no problems. Have a good one, Kirk. > > -- Everything in life sucks except things that should!

Guest guest
Carole, Welcome to Chicago!! The weather right now, Sunday a.m. is raining, but the prediction for the week is sunny and in the mid 70's - perfect!! But you never know with Chicago I say. About the meds, DEFINITELY keep them in the original bottle..that has your prescription number and Dr.s name, your name and all the vital info on it..I had 11 bottles of pills in a medicine bag and Enbral in a cold pack bag I got from Enbral ...CARRY IT ON in original bottle!! I also put mine in a large ziplock baggie..I had no problem at Midway. What airport are you coming into..Midway or O'Hare? I usually fly Midway...BIG but very easy..and YES get a wheelchair..get a wheel chair..get a wheelchair!! Did I mention, get a wheelchair??  Only because the lines can get long, the aisles from the security check in are long and I don't know about you but my terminal is ALWAYS the last one..lol After you get past security check in, there is an area you can eat..a little variety, not bad, i usually go to Potbelly's, for a sandwich. There are also little shops, nothing great, just expensive souvenirs..lol They also have those 'pedways' that you can go on (not sure if you can take a wheelchair on those though-don't think so) The people at SWA called for a wheelchair for me and I would have used it but I turned around and  there were areas by the door that had them and we just grabbed one from the doorway. I am not sure about O'Hare because I usually just pick up people from there...now that is RIDICULOUSLY BIG..obviously.. Any other questions I can confuse you by, email me  tototoo42@... I hope you have a great time here...enjoy...RELAX!!!!! Diane..42  I'm worried about the logistics of getting around the airport and McCormick place in Chicago - it's huge and I can't walk so well anymore. I've requested wheelchairs but I don't want to use them, but will if I have to., Tomorrow I will look at the websites for United Air to see what I need to do about all of our meds. Any hints or suggestions here?

Guest guest
Carole; as many have said get and use a wheel chair . carry all your meds in the bottles they came in and the same for any shots you use. my father and mom traveled a lot in the US and over seas . because he was a diabetic they had to carry his meds with them in case there luggage got lost. not one time did it ever give them grief from carrying them but two times it came in handy that they had . one time there luggage got to them the day before they came home from a two week trip. just think what would you do with out your meds for a few days let alone a week or more. second thing is have fun enjoy your selfs. the rednecks Marty & G.
