A day of Double Noels

A fantastic day all around!  I went in for a follow up appointment with Dr. No, aka Noel Snodgrass, for my wonky knee and sacroiliac joint this morning. I cannot say enough good things about this chiropractor who is so much more than just a chiropractor!  He smashed out the knots in my knee (which hurt like a mother, I was tight fisted and humming the whole time) , did some minor manipulation and then put the laser on it for 4 minutes or so.  He showed me a new stretch to do for this particular part of the inner knee and adductors  that's kind of like a Warrior 1 but not, and said to be sure and use my foam roller on my IT bands because if I do a lot of running those are likely to go next.  So I shall!

My back is mostly healed now but nonetheless he checked it out and found where my lower back needed attention and he did some minor manipulations and smashing there too.  My knee especially feels better already.

My legs are STILL sore from Leg Day last Thursday with Pro Trainer Noel Fuller (in my mind, the *real* Noel).  I can see on Facebook that his clients are winning contests left and right across the country!  Woo-hoo!  Yay Noel!

I was grateful that it was chest and triceps today because my legs like I said are still sore from Thursday and my upper back is sore today oddly enough from Turbo Kick Round 42 from all the punches.  I ran into Third Eye Jiu-Jitzu (Troy) who I hadn't seen yet this set of sessions and I got a big, warm hug from him which felt nice.

We did the usual machines, 3 sets of 10 on 4 chest machines and 3 tricep machines including the rope pull-down which I especially like.  We talked about diet and he said he noticed my belly was shrinking which made me feel good.  I'm workin' at it!  I told him that I needed to quit drinking so much wine (it was a big wine month what with the high school reunion and 3 family reunions) because whenever I give it up for a month or more I really see results, especially combined with running.  Noel said that he's going to give up drinking for 2 months and do more work on the stairmaster for cardio, and this inspires me!  Noel looks all hunky and perfect  already imo but since I've personally never seen him work out I forget somehow that he has to work hard at it too.  I think I've seen him eat only once so it's comforting to know that the pros struggle with temptations too!

After being beaten to a pulp I ran for a half hour on the treadmill and was happy to see the machine on the end, the one I always use, is one with a drink holder now!  I was sweaty and stinky after that so I showered there at Fitness and dressed back into my work clothes, and as I got to the door I could see it was raining, and more than just sprinkles.

" Rats!  The one day I forget a jacket! "   Noel asked if I'd like to borrow something and I said, " Sure! " He brought out a heavy long sleeved orange silk shirt and held it out for me to put my arms through its sleeves.  What a sweet thing to offer me something to keep me warm and dry, plus it's been forever since I wore a man's shirt and I admit I felt a little giddy about it.  The tails go down to my knees and wearing it made me feel little.  I kept smelling it on the bus.
