today Oil around $130 barrel ... raw milk at $461 per barrel

with Congress soaking up the debt for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, I

predict easily 200$ per barrel for oil by Xmass. What are you going

to be charging for REAL MILK then?

you cannot even produce raw milk for $3 per gallon ... so why give it

away to folks who make that much in ten minutes at their city job?

I live in Australia, and we use litres here, rather than gallons, but I am pretty sure 4 litres is approx 1 gallon. I pay 70c per litre, or $2.40 per gallon, in Australian dollars. According to the exchange rate, there isn't much difference btween AUD and USD at the moment, maybe a few cents, so maybe I am paying about $2.50US per gallon.

It's $10 and up around here, no matter where you're getting it.

>Not sure where your located, (I'm in Florida) but when I first

started buying a few years ago, I paid $12/gallon, then when we

started milking our own cow, I sold our excess for $10/gallon.

Because we are now waiting for our cows to calve, we are paying (the

same farmer) $14/gallon. I will say from experience, that with all

the time and effort that went into milking and cleaning the milker,

filtering, and doing this everyday, no matter what else comes along,

the $10/gallon that I charged for my extra milk was in no way " making

a living " it was barely getting by. So, moral to my story, perfect

raw milk is worth every penny of the $14/gallon that I pay now. And

whatever you choose to charge, make it worth your time. I NEVER had

milk that I had to throw away, people were knocking down my door to

get it. And I NEVER advertised in any way, it was all word of mouth.

It’s interesting, I was called

recently by a reporter for a local newspaper who had heard I was an avid raw

milk consumer. During the interview she asked what I was paying for my

raw milk and I told her 3.99 per half gallon. She immediately said “that’s

about twice as much as milk at the supermarket”. My reply took

little thought; I told her that I would be willing to pay more, if

necessary. In my opinion good raw milk (especially from cows fed little

or no grain), is a true superfood. Why would I complain about a few

dollars per gallon extra, when my health insurance bill is over $600 per month,

largely due to most people eating processed food and industrial milk? It’s

not an easy thing when there’s little left over for food. But, we

will only change the system by our actions, and we should choose to vote with our

dollars for raw milk.

I'm in Central CA- I drive to Organic Pastures & pay $5.00 per 1/2

gallon. I believe Whole Foods sells the same 1/2 gallon for about

$8.00.

I'm in southern California, and my local HFS sells OP milk for $7.80 per

1/2 gallon. Whole Foods sells it for almost $10.

I pay $2.50 a gallon here in the middle of Kansas. There are others who

charge around $4-$6 a gallon in this same area though.
