Guest guest Posted October 4, 2010 Report Share Posted October 4, 2010  As long as it doesn't wreck or make your day or change how you approach your nutrition for the day then it is probably okay. A LOT of people change what they'll eat and their moods are horribly affected based only on the scale's tempermental information. I used to be like that and now normally weigh in once a week. I feel a lot freer and a lot more balanced. I can weigh daily now because, like you, I understand the fluctuations are not really giving me accurate information, that a trend over a few weeks at a consistent time is more useful. Sometimes I find it plain entertaining to hop on and see what it says in various situations (just after eating, in the morning and then in the evening to see the difference, etc.). Very interesting results sometimes! I never used to be able to keep it in perspective and unless people can, I counsel them to not weigh in daily. I counted calories and ate most days around 1,300 to 1,400. One day I did have around 1,600 but that was the exception. I didn't drink as much water so that may be why I didn't lose as much. I know I can't lose every week but I would sure like to! Since it's getting colder here in Michigan, I will be substituting green tea for ice water. Wish me good luck this week!
