Guest guest
I am a mother of a child diagnosed with PDD and I run a licensed childcare. I accept all children but I have the right to refuse care if I can not handle the child, cannot provide addequate care for the child under the law. For example If the child needs wheel chair access and I cant afford to provide it I cant take her / or him, and that is not discrimination nor is it illegal. If one child needs me so much that the others are now put in danger I can not take of them and that is not discrimination On another not. You want the best care for your child. Find a place that will love your child and care for him like he needs. Find a place your child is comfortable and likes to go A Chapman wrote: Here ya go: " MIRANDA, BERNA " wrote: Dear Chapman: Thank you for your recent inquiry. §746.1201(3) require caregivers to recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families, and their cultures. Guest guest
*Forcing* a childcare to accept your child when they don't want to or can't will only make for a strained school/family relationship. There are others that would jump at the chance to serve you and your child--my son is at a private MDO type program 2 days a week at a local gymanstics place, and the director has bent over backwards to accomodate him--I provide his food, art supplies, a " facilitator " (sp, ed major), she has bought special flash cards with large type/pictures for my son (who is autistic and severely vision impaired) so he can see the letter/shape/ color being discussed in circle time while allowing the other kids to see the book she is holding up (my son would literally have his nose in the book to see), has a " just the right height " chair for him to see the letter videos up close without blocking anyone elses view.... They are private, not licensed and do not have to provide for him, but they do. > > I am a mother of a child diagnosed with PDD and I run a licensed > childcare.
